September 2026 Delegate’s Report
September 27th 2026 Delegate Report
Good afternoon everyone, since we met in August for our workshop assembly I had the pleasure of submitting Sue as Area 43’s candidate for Northeast Regional Trustee. I can confirm GSO has received the resume and everything there is in place.
We received a communication this month from the Literature Desk at GSO. This communication is an FAQ around questions received since the 75th General Service Conference regarding the 5th Edition Big Book. This can be found on the Delegates corner and here is a link that will take you directly to the letter.

I want to remind you all here and hope that the groups of the district also know I am available to visit any District and am willing to make myself available to groups or individuals with questions, concerns, comments whether by phone, email in person or zoom. I am working on scheduling a “coffee with the delegate day” to also provide an opportunity to get together ask questions about conference service etc. tentatively October 24th at the service office and I will open a zoom room as well. I should have a flyer complete prior to the minutes going out.
Area 43’s Concept Study began a few weeks ago and has so far covered the first 2 concepts I am excited to say we have had members from all over the country and even a few from outside the country. This concept study which will be followed by the chapters of the service manual hosts guest presenters each week with questions and discussion afterward. I would hope to continue to see large support from our entire Area committee and District committees. These topics are a deep dive into our overall service structure and are beneficial for anyone who is considering moving on into leadership rolls in AA or anyone who is currently in a leadership roll now. That being said I thank those who I have seen attend and hope that those of you who haven’t been able to make it yet will consider joining us. Below is a link to the event calendar where you can find the flyer and zoom link. Tomorrow night we get into concept 3 at 7 pm.

I just received a survey link regarding needs for a Spanish plain language book. This comes from a recommendation of the 75th General Service Conference that a study be done. This survey is geared towards Spanish speaking members and groups. While we don’t have any Spanish groups listed I am aware of a meeting that takes place for Spanish speaking members that is not a registered group. I am asking that you all help me reach those who speak Spanish that WE can get this survey into their hands which can increase how meaningful this survey will be. Below is the link

the last few things I want to touch on are some upcoming events. Ill first touch on our November assembly. Our bi-annual inventory assembly is a day to come together as an area and gather input from the groups and area committee members on what is working well what can be improved and what is not working well. I can not stress enough the importance of the groups opportunity to be involved in this process. The work an effort going into this is not lost on me and I hope our membership takes part to see the rewards of this hard work through participation.
The other event is NERAASA which sounds like registration will fully open on October 1st. The website is www.neraasa.com register and book your hotels early as the main hotel always tends to fill up fast.
Thank you for allowing me the privilege to serve as Area 43’s Panel 76 Delegate
Alex L.
