Delegate’s Report June 2025

Welcome summer and welcome to a month of renewed energy for Area 43 in so many ways. You have all heard by now the move the Service Office will do by the end of July, but more important is the service and teamwork that brought this to fruition. Enough cannot be said to thank all the people, from our SOC chair, Area Chair, Alt Chair, Finance Chair, Treasurer, Technology Chair, and don’t forget the Ad hoc Committee. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, as one of the big deals is it will be an office finally accessible to all.
It is a pleasure to have our Pipeline up and running once again. What a wonderful way to keep us all connected, great job!
During this month I attended District 14 for a mini Post Conference report back and look forward next week to District 11, followed by District 18 on Monday August 4th.. In addition, I connected with District 8 and will assist them with launching a District Inventory, hopefully within the next few weeks.

Delegate’s Report May 2025

I want to thank District 12 for hosting the Post Conference Assembly this Saturday. It is an honor to bring back all the happenings of an entire week with 137 trusted servants at the 75 th General Service Conference. I was sure to take the time to speak to the several trustees and directors who were rotating out of service, to thank them for their commitment to Alcoholics Anonymous, both Class A’s and Class B’s. Once again we are blessed with their knowledge, and will be blessed with the future knowledge of the incoming panels I am sure. I started the week visiting a meeting anniversary that had been started by Bill W. 81 years ago and ended it applauding the rotation of the trustees and directors.

Committees Back Home and the Future

On the home front, it’s been a busy time attending the wrap up of the Functions Committee, Service Office Committee, as well as the Finance Committee. As Delegate I am not a member of any of these committees but sometimes my laptop can be of service, of I can be of some small service. After New Years it will be my pleasure to once again be on the Functions Committee, which has always been delightful. Meanwhile there is much to do!

Mini Post Conference Delegate Reports

I am currently scheduled for District 14 visit on Monday June 2nd, and District 18 district visit on Monday August 4th. You all know how to get ahold of me:  delegate@nhaa.net.   It is a real pleasure to meet everyone on a personal level.

What Are You Interested In?

This is a great time of year to pay attention to who is enthusiastic about A.A., who seems to know what is going on, and who might be able to answer questions about a committee or officer position.  Many times the name of a position is enough to scare someone away.  I for one never, ever wanted to be Treasurer so managed to skip that one, which I am sure Area 43 will be all the better off for.  However, my favorite was as Area Secretary.  Who knew?  I got to respond and receive emails from everyone and keep up on everything going on which was a lot of fun.  Registrar was before the current system, so I can’t speak for Dave’s amazing ability to keep on top of things.  It was all Grace F’s fault that I got thrown onto an Ad Hoc committee for Hotline now Helpline, which turned out to be the most fun I had had since the Functions committee.  Thank you, Grace.  You just never know.  Please don’t be afraid to get your feet wet.  Simply pray and ask for help.  Many of us are still sober.

NERAASA 2026

February 20-22 will be close by in Portland, Maine.  I am on the committee and will keep Area 43 up to date on hotel and registration information as it becomes available.
