December 2025 Pipeline

The December 2025 Pipeline focuses on the gift of peace during the holiday season, opening with news about the upcoming 59th Annual NHAA Convention, a raffle for a full “Convention for Two” package, and holiday gift ideas from the Area 43 Service Office. Tradition Twelve is explored with practical reminders about humility, unity, and protecting the stories we hear in the rooms. Across the state, groups in Barnstead, Manchester, Newport, Bradford, Hampton, and more share anniversaries, changes, and calls for support. The events pages are filled with seasonal gatherings like potlucks, meditation meetings, group anniversaries, and a full slate of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve alcathons offering fellowship for anyone who needs a safe place this time of year.

This month’s AA History highlights defining December moments, from Bill and Lois joining the Oxford Group to Bill’s spiritual experience at Towns Hospital, Dr. Bob’s final major talk, and the first Grapevine appearance of the “Man on the Bed” painting. “Miracles in Motion” shares Ryan’s heartfelt reflection on navigating his first sober Thanksgiving at 22, balancing fear with gratitude and discovering the quiet strength that comes from simply showing up. The issue closes with meeting updates, a 24/7 helpline reminder, and an invitation for members to submit stories for future editions.

Download it, bring it to your home group, and pass it on to someone who might need connection this December.

Delegate’s Report October 2025

A sincere thank you to District 9 for hosting the October Election Assembly today. The Spirit of Rotation will be alive and well in Area 43 today as we elect our new trusted servants. The Final Report for the 75th General Service Conference has arrived and I have brought it to the assembly. This online review of the report of the conference is still being held with guest speakers each Sunday evening:

The next one is Sunday October 26th.

Do you remember the Pre-Conference in 2024?

As dedicated round tables you presented your best suggestions which I carried to the 74th General Service Conference. The Transgender Pamphlet was assigned to the Committee I was placed on: Corrections, and this pamphlet passed at Conference. The Asian-Asian American Pamphlet passed as a floor action. It now gives me great pleasure to announce that there is a call for stories for both of these pamphlets! Your voices were in a small but important part heard in this process. If you know of someone, please reach out to see if they would be interested. The information follows below:

During this Election Assembly, may we remember to be grateful for the program of Alcoholics Anonymous that began 90 years ago, and flourishes in the U.S and Canada today. I am posting the updated 7th Traditions Contributions flyer that shows how much our office in New York does for us behind the scenes, to help the sick and suffering alcoholic. I have also posted the letter from our General Manager Bob W. below for those who did not receive it, as well.  May we all be grateful for our sobriety, as we participate in this amazing Spirit of Rotation to elect our Panel 76 Officers!

NERAASA 2026:

The main hotel, Portland by the Bay is full.  The Westin is still taking reservations and the best way to do it is to go online for booking.  I have a committee meeting Sunday October 26th, so may have new information should you need an update so reach out with questions.

Our Director of Publishing, David R. will be retiring, and the notice below has been circulated

Among trusted servants in the fellowship.  It was an honor to serve with him at the Conference as well as the International Convention.

The next DCM Roundtable Sharing Session will be

Wednesday November 26th:

The topic will be safety in A.A. meetings, in person and online.

It has been a pleasure and an honor to be of service to Area 43

An Urgent Message from our Grapevine Publisher Chis C.:

Dear Friends in the AA Fellowship:

Grapevine and La Viña need your help — now more than ever.

For over eight decades AA Grapevine and La Viña, AA’s magazines written by us, for us,
convey shared experience, strength, and hope from members across the world. Now,
beyond the magazines we carry the AA message in many new forms:

• Apps available worldwide in English and Spanish
• A podcast with more than 1.2 million downloads and 24,000 listens per month
• An Instagram community of 15,000 followers
• A YouTube channel with over 16,000 subscribers and 267,000 views
• ASL Videos for the Deaf on our YouTube Channel
• Over 40 books of member stories and writings
• Free content for the incarcerated on prison tablets
• Free print subscriptions for alcoholics in prisons, hospitals and institutions

Grapevine provides the podcast, YouTube channel, Instagram and the prison tablet content
free of charge to help alcoholics. Therein lies the challenge: Grapevine’s only source of
income is from subscriptions and the sale of books. The magazines do not accept
individual or group contributions.

Folks often ask how they can support Grapevine. Today, our financial situation is very
difficult. With your increased support, a thriving Grapevine and La Viña will continue
providing these vital services to alcoholics everywhere. We will also persist in adapting new
technologies to carry the AA message.

A. A. Grapevine, Inc. Report to General Service Board -723 active app subscribers added July 1, 2025, to July 31, 2025
-Podcast: 1,208,606 downloads
– Instagram: Grapevine has 14,821 followers, La Viña
-YouTube: 390 videos
-Retrofit: All GSO and Grapevine employees will work remotely beginning August 11th.
-Expense reduction: Fewer promotional mailings, delaying reprints for books with less demand, rent will be reduced starting September 15, 2025.
-Draw from reserve fund: The Grapevine Finance and Budget Committee recommended that the Grapevine Board request a draw for the GSB reserve fund of $350,000. Both book sales and subscriptions are down from budget re-forecast and cash flow forecast show that negative cash balances would begin in August and continue for the remainder of the year.
-Australia’s GSO inquired about placing AAWS and Grapevine literature on tablets for use in the prison system.

Update regarding the 2025 IC Souvenir book: The International Convention Souvenir Book Amends letter was previously sent out, however I have copied and attached it again to this Delegate Report. It will also be sent to anyone else who inquires about the error that the wrong flag was put in the book. Specifically in Part Thirteen, A.A., Country by Country, on page 329, the name “Jerusalem” appears with its corresponding flag. The correct country listing should have been “Israel” along with its flag. The remaining inventory of the books will be sold and include the letter as an erratum with direction to the corrected replacement page. The General manager and General Service Board chair met with the Israel AA Central Office representatives to make a direct amends. This info and the details included in the amends letter were shared with their board representatives. They accepted the amends, expressed gratitude for our communications and satisfaction with the actions that were taken.

Updates from the Third Quarterly General Service Board
Corrections: A discussion is ongoing concerning digital forms of communication as an avenue for interaction with individuals without access to traditional means of communication.
Literature: This committee now has five working groups including: 5th Edition Big Book; progress on pamphlets “Questions and Answers on Sponsorship” and “Indigenous People in A.A.” as well as the Twelve Concepts video animation and appointment of two ACMs (Appointed Committee Members) in reference to a pamphlet development for Asian and Asian American Alcoholic, also the Transgender Alcoholic pamphlet. Please note that the Indigenous People pamphlet is already in our Service Office!

Public Information:
The Public Information Committee recommended that the three videos produced by the GSB of AA Australia, (one of which was presented during my delegate report back to Area 43 fellowship) be adapted by AAWS for use on media platforms in the US and Canada.
-YouTube Shorts: the PSAs be added with shorter versions
-AAWS Meeting Guide App: Changes to Daily Reflections are reflected on the app and wants to ensure that all conference approved literature is updated on the app.
-GSOs AA website: a concern that chat functionality should be covered by local AA services
-Membership Survey: Two subcommittees will be required, for a 2026 Membership Survey.
-The committee is discussing revisions to the pamphlet “Understanding Anonymity” now addressing social media.

Cooperation with the Professional Community:
-The staff secretary is looking for ways to reach out directly to professionals who deal with unhoused alcoholics.
-The committee requested GSO improve the focus of the 2026 CPC exhibit schedule of professional events, including class A trustees where their experience with their respective professions would be most useful.
-Pamphlet P-27 “AA in Treatment Settings” has been updated to read “provide or directly engage in detoxification services, nursing, hospitalization, medicine or any medical, psychiatric, psychological or therapeutic treatment”

Trustees Nominating Committee:
-The new ACM was chosen, work assisting the working group will begin on development of a draft pamphlet on the transgender alcoholic in A.A.
-The new ACM was chosen, and work will begin assisting the working group on development of a pamphlet on Asian and Asian-American alcoholic in A.A.
-There have been 4 subcommittees appointed: Addressing Grievances, Preparing for Future Vacancies, Nominating Procedure, Trustee Emeriti.

Finance and Budgetary Committee:
AAWS/GSB 2025 Budget Reforecast:
-The International Convention profit and loss is not expected to be finalized until September, estimated bottom line is close to breaking even.
-The retrofit of the General Service Office increased from $2,030,000 to $2,100.000.
-Grapevine rent payment reduced from $63,844 to $49,451 due to an earlier date for reducing square footage of use.
-General Service Conference Budget reduced by $55K based on actual savings in travel, meals and lodging.
-Technology Services budget increased by $93K primarily due to NetSuite (several functionalities)
-The Finance Committee recommended approval of the reforecast budget.
-The Reserve Fund as of June 30,2025 is a balance of $11.941 million

Grapevine 2025 Financial Report including La Viña:
-Subscriptions are lower than last year, but continued growth in digital and app. Gross margin on total subscriptions is over budget.
-Overall Gross Margin for Grapevine is projected to be $1,809,187. Expenses are now projected to be $56K higher than budget. This is a combination of website costs, salary, audit fees, fulfillment and office expenses.
-La Viña circulation of print copies has been doing well but the earnings per copy has been under budget, causing the 2025 subscription income to be under budget. This situation is under research. The La Viña subscription income was $161K, but the reforecast is reducing this to $141K.

Discussion of Reserve Fund Drawdown
-$2.1million Reserve Fund drawdown to support the GSO office retrofit, as well as an additional $350,000 requested by Grapevine for operations – a total poposed drawdown of $2.45million.
-Discussion concerning the purpose of the Reserve Fund
-Discussion concerning the necessity of the impact of the retrofit
-Discussion concerning the importance of self-support and ongoing contributions
-The Reserve Fund will be rebuilt over time as finances allow

The committee recommended to the GSB a Reserve Fund drawdown of up to $2,100.000 for the GSO retrofit and a drawdown of $350,000 for Grapevine operations.
-Reserve Fund is currently at $11,941.173, with 6.42 months of coverage, so after the drawdown this would leave the Reserve Fund balance at $9,491.173 with 5.1 months coverage of operating expenses.
-Self Support Packet (SKU-F-19) Accessibility: has been approved to be downloadable online soon, not just in print.
-General Service Office is creating QR codes to link directly to the contribution page.

International Conventions/Regional Forums Committee:
-There is a decrease in the estimated sign language budget interpretation at the two Regional
-Forums, due to adding AI interpretation Tool

September 2025 Pipeline

The September 2025 Pipeline leans into “Sober September—Falling Into Place,” with District 9 hosting the Area 43 elections for officers and committee chairs (GSRs especially encouraged!). Inside you’ll also find an update from the new NHAA Service Office at 2½ Beacon Street in Concord with more parking, better accessibility, and ready to serve plus a full calendar of Granite State and regional events and a moving Miracles in Motion story, “Learning to Trust Again.”

There are easy ways to get involved, including pre-registration for NHSCYPAA and NECYPAA (both coming to New Hampshire in 2026) and links to young-people’s meetings. We also look back at AA milestones in September from Florence R., the first woman to get sober in AA, to the first pocket-size Grapevine and Bill D.’s passing and close with resources like the 24-hour helpline and how to submit your group’s event.

Download your copy, share it with your group or district, and stay connected.

Delegate’s Report August 2025

A sincere thank you to District 17 for hosting our August Assembly! One thing I share to other area delegates is the importance of reaching out in person as well as virtually to as many members as possible in our area as we can, to stay connected. I look forward to seeing everyone in October at the Election Assembly hosted by District 9, you will be voting in your new slate of trusted servants so everyone needs to show up for this important event! See you there: 136 Pillsbury Rd., Londonderry NH 03053

This past month the trips to the new Service Office have been a pleasure from Merrimack. It was fun to connect with those who came through for the Open House on August 16th, our new manager Leeann and pass along the balloons that we hung up out front to three very happy little girls afterwards.

Preliminary Agenda Items

These are also known as “PAI’s”. Your Alternate Delegate Justin just shared about the path of an agenda item during the Area 43 August Assembly. Each of you, in your group, has a voice to bring forth an idea. Don’t be shy, but don’t be hasty without giving the topic proper background research. Resources can be found on page 42 of the AA Service Manual. Do not hesitate to email me for assistance on a topic. We are a fellowship, and together we are much stronger than when we work alone. I am repeating in this month’s Delegate report the link to the form:

Link to Proposed Agenda Item (PAI) Submission Form for the 2026 General Service Conference (GSC)

See below the first nine Preliminary Proposed Items as of July 23, 2025 that have been submitted for the 2026 General Service Conference Agenda. Prior to these items becoming final agenda items, they will be reviewed by trustees’ committees, who may or may not forward them to a Conference committee.

After reading the items below, is there something that has come up in your home group that you feel is important to send in to be reviewed? Every voice in the fellowship of AA is important.

General Service Board Information Updates

• The Final Conference Reports should be on track to be available digitally in late August/early September, with the printed copies arriving on my doorstep by the end of September. I will bring the cases to the Service Office when they arrive, as well as the October Election Assembly for distribution.
• The minutes from the most recent General Service Board meeting are not available yet and will hopefully arrive in two weeks.
• Updates on final conference reports are that they are also on track, with digital usually by late August/early September, and print version by late September. I sincerely look forward to bringing to you the news I have heard but must wait for confirmation.
• The 2025 International Convention final financials are not available yet, as some vendor invoices are pending. Stay tuned.

Please read the following update regarding the AA Meeting Guide APP, and report to your groups

APP NEWS – SUMMER 2025

Meeting Guide App Update
This Meeting Guide update is part of a series of communications that are intended to help you stay informed about any changes or enhancements to the Meeting Guide app.
It’s been a while since our last update, and we appreciate your patience. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes on a new feature designed to make it easier to find online A.A. meetings. We’re now seeking beta testers to help us fine-tune this update. If you’re interested in participating, read on below to learn how you can join the beta test using your own mobile device.

Seeking Beta Testers
We’re getting ready to test a proposed update that will make it easier to find online A.A. meetings.
This beta test will be short and flexible, and you’ll use your own mobile device. Participants will need to install a beta version of the app. If you’re interested, please click the link below to complete a brief participation application.

Participation Application Link

We’ll follow up with details if you’re a good fit for this round of testing.

Support Spotlight
As we get closer to releasing our new online meeting feature, it’s more important than ever to make sure your meeting data is accurate. We’ve noticed that some online meetings are still being listed as “Temporarily Closed,” which can confuse members looking for meetings.

Please update your meeting listing, by verifying that the information listed is accurate.
As we all know, our Area 43 Registrar Dave T. works tirelessly to keep our meeting information up to date. Thank you to all the groups who send in any changes as they occur. Keep doing that, it means the newcomer can find us!

Hop onto NERAASA.COM for the website to the 2026 Northeast AA Service Assembly. Some Area 43 members have already reserved their rooms, which I suggested. You can view the full agenda that weekend while on the website and register later after elections in October. I will be there all weekend and hope to see you many of you there, I know I was able to learn a lot, as well as share a lot while at previous NERAASA.

There is a beautiful – International Convention Commemorative Edition of The Language of the Heart available to all now, more information to follow from the Service Office later.

Celebrate AA’s 90th anniversary with this one-time commemorative International Convention issue of one of Grapevine’s most beloved books, The Language of the Heart: Bill W’s Grapevine Writings. The hard-back book comes in all three languages and features a beautiful new cover and intro page. Our cofounder Bill W. contributed more than 150 articles to Grapevine in his lifetime, which were collected in this book, first published in 1988. The essays in it lay out the basic principles of AA’s Steps and Traditions and chronicle the early pioneer days as well as Bill’s vision for AA. It’s a great keepsake and a wonderful gift for a friend or newcomer.

Delegate’s Report July 2025

Wow is simply an understatement to describe the amount of organization, teamwork and of course grunt work that was involved in packing, moving, unpacking, deciding, hanging, setting up, doing the tech work, and let us not forget the ability to work together as a team in summer heat that resulted in moving the Service Office. I cannot give enough gratitude to all involved, you know who you are, and how much you are loved. Stop by, check it out for a visit. The Open House will be on Saturday August 16th, 10am to 2pm, you can pick up literature items you need, have refreshments while you are there and ask me questions.

Speaking of Teamwork

I hope you have had time to check out the July Pipeline! That is up on the website, great job again Brittanie. It gives you a taste of the International if you were unable to go, for more on that you will just have to come to the…

Area 43 August Assembly

Every member of Area 43, yes this every, so bring your sponsees, toss them in your car. Have a lovely ride up through the mountains all the way to Littleton, NH and have a meeting on the way up. There are important matters to be discussed, presented and District 17 is a wonderful host. I look forward to giving you a hands-on as well as oral sharing on my experience at the International Convention. You just have to show up to experience it!

Pay close attention to the draft 2026 Budget. A great deal of hard work has been done by many individuals, especially past delegate Grace F. as Finance Chair. Listen to her report today carefully and communicate to your groups.

Preliminary Agenda Items

These are also known as “PAI’s”. Your Alternate Delegate Justin will be sharing about the path of an agenda item at the Area 43 August Assembly. Just how does one of your ideas even become an agenda item at the General Service Conference? Do you have an idea to send in? Don’t be shy, but don’t be hasty without giving the topic proper background research, resources can be found on page 42 of the AA Service Manual. I am sure you will hear more on August 23rd, but you must be present. We are a fellowship, and together we are so much stronger than when we work alone.
