March 2026 Delegate Report
Delegate report 3/28/26
Good day Friends,
This last month has been a busy but rewarding time. Following our last meeting we went to NERAASA in Portland. I was thrilled to see such wonderful participation from our Area. Over the course of the weekend there were some good topics discussed. Some take aways of talks and discussion – Some Questions to consider when being guided by Principles. 1: How does this help serve the primary purpose and 2: Does this help the new comer? Leaning into Tradition 5. Shared Ideas help us get to a good group conscience. Autonomy is not a cloak to do whatever you want. Autonomy equals responsibility. Autonomy requires accountability. “Freedom is tempered by responsibility” good decisions emerge from trust not through fear. I learned about the Grapevine “back issues” deal where you can purchase a bundle of 30 back issues for under $2 per magazine. I attended both round table discussions for Delegates and Alts. We learned about some of the duties of the committee chairs of the conference committees as well as what to expect at conference. We went over some of the schedule and how the conference operates in order to help us first year delegate be ready.
Following NERAASA I spent the next week preparing the documents for the upcoming pre conference assembly. We held one in person day of sharing and 4 virtual events (all well attended) to ensure that the information for The General Service Conference was well disseminated to the Area 43 Fellowship. There was a lot of thoughtful discussion and great GSR participation. I wish to thank all of those how participated in those sessions There was also several visits to Districts, thank you to those DCM’s for inviting me to participate and share with those groups the Conference material. I also want to take a moment to thank everyone here today who has participated in this process.
I attended several other events over the past month. NHSCYPAA which was a wonderful event put on by that hose committee. The biggest take away from the weekend is the overwhelming sense of connection I saw with the YPAA community and feeling a part of our overall service structure. NERD or the NorthEast Regional Delegates Reunion was another enjoyable experience where the weekend proved to be a solid place for helping prepare delegates to go to conference. With a workshop guided by one of the General Service Trustees serving on the AA World Service board. We learned a great deal about the process of selection for Non Trustee Directors and General Service Trustees. There was also a “mock conference” which helped get an idea of what the voting process was like and some experience of going to the mic during a conference like atmosphere.
In conclusion the events attended leading up to today and then the process of today I think has really given me a good sense of what to expect and a new level of preparedness to represent Area 43 as a Delegate to the conference next month.
A few things I wish to highlight from the bottom of the triangle, I continue to post the monthly self support letters on the “delegate corner” https://nhaa.net/delegate-corner/ we have moved the past letters into an archive location at the bottom of the page so that the most current one will always be highlighted however the past ones remain available. Some other things you will find there, a call for stories for the Transgender Alcoholic and the Asian and Asian American pamphlets. The deadline for submission is march 31’st. I have included the hyperlinks in previous reports however the minutes will go out the day these end so if you wish to submit a story please use the link on the “delegate corner”.
I hope to see everyone at the Area 43 convention next month April 17th-19th in Nashua. I will miss you all next month as I will be at the General Service Conference during the monthly meeting. I look forward to our Post conference Assembly May 30th hosted by District 9. If any Districts would like me to visit following our Post Conference please reach out to schedule those visits.
Thank you all for allowing me to serve Area 43 in this way.
Alex L Area 43 Panel 76 Delegate.
