Founders’ Day is an important part of the history of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Founders’ Day is widely known as the date of Dr. Bob’s last drink on June 10, 1935, which is now celebrated as the founding date of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Why June 10th?
On this day, Bill W. and Dr. Bob decided that they would continue to work to stay sober by getting support from others who were struggling with alcohol dependence.
Each year, Founders’ Day is observed as an integral piece of the legacy our co-founders left for us:
Unity, Service, Recovery!
