Many of the AA groups and committees in New Hampshire organize events during the holidays with ‘marathon’ meetings that run throughout the day, as well as food and fellowship.
The holidays can be a challenging time of year for many people in AA, both newcomers and people with long-term sobriety. Alcathons offer an opportunity for people who may have no place to go, or for members who simply want to connect with their friends and other fellow AA members during the holiday.
Anyone with a desire to stop drinking can attend Alcathon meetings, and friends and family are welcome to participate in the food and fellowship as well.
